This morning we put forward another proposal in a effort to get to a deal, the employer has not yet responded to it. it is difficult going but we remain committed to getting you the best deal that we can get. There isn't a lot to say here today other than the negotiations are on going. We are meeting with the employer again on Friday the 20th of March.

there are 2 scheduled negotiating days left the 20th and 26th i believe..any plans on scheduling more?
i know you can't get into much detail but how far apart are both sides on resolving this?
The team is open to scheduling more dates but neither side has really discussed that at the table nor has it been raised by either side. As far as the distance between the sides well lets just say the that both sides are having some serious issues with the tabled proposals. To be honest the progress is slow. But that is not to say that we are not communicating. Clearly the employer has their own view on things as do we. Rest assured the employer knows that you have picked a good team with level heads. My view is that they are proceeding with caution.
how optimistic then are you and the rest of the team with only two more dates set for negotiating?
The team is very optimistic, but we are also very determined to do the job that we were elected to do. Just because there are only two scheduled dates left that we know about, doesn't mean that more wont come available. Also it is very common that we get called back to the table. So there are a lot of things that could play out. It is very difficult to nail down exactly how things are going to go I wish I could give you more, so that you could brace yourself for any impact that their might be. There is still a process that needs to be followed before we get to that final hour. Both parties are required by law to bargain in good faith. Thanks for asking the questions
thanks for taking the time to answer back.
