DAY 8 NEGOTIATIONS MARCH 20

Well here we are at day number  8. The day started of a little rough and with a lot of frustration for both parties. we spent the day going over the the employers proposal and considering the next coarse of action that we are going to take. We worked through our lunch to try and better understand the employers position. Both parties  were prepared to leave for the day in frustration. At the end of the day we were called back to the table by the employer,  and then made cautious and guarded progress in moving towards a deal.

How many issues are their to be bargained on? I can't begin to imagine the long tiring days of negotiating. It is positive to hear that we were called back to the table and progress was made.

Have they asked to take anything back from the last contract in exchange for a new issue on our part? or vise versa?

Are they truly serious with hiring full time and or exchanged any knowledge on whether or not casino niagara is relocating? I ask this because it could be a reason why they may need to hire full time again not just because our staffing levels are getting lower.

Is senority being bargained on and the process of part time scheduling? Also any process on full time being able to drop down to part time and a part timer replacing that full time slot hired by senority?

In the coming days is it possible that contact with our employer may lead to a drafted deal before the next negotiating day on the 26th?

Sorry for the lenth of this post and questions but as you can imagine we are all a little anxious at this time.

Keep up the great work!

There is a very large list if issues to be bargained on, the ones that we have left are among the top demands that were put forward by our members.
The employer has stated that they intend to stay in touch with the bargaining team over the next few days. According to them they need clarification on some issues that were tabled and how to proceed with them.
I wish I could answer all these questions with definite answers, but I have to be careful because any answer that I give here could be considered Bad Faith Bargaining, and it could undo all of the work we have done so far.

All of the questions that you have asked have found their way to the table at one time or another. I just cant tell you what the answers to those questions are in this forum. The employer watches this Blog very closely as well as the youtube site.

Please bare with us for a while longer, you have a good team, and a smart team. We are looking out for the interests of all. I apologize that I cannot give you more answers at this time, it is for the protection of all.
